We have been gettin' our lovely girl Luci B. ready for the 4th here on Grant St. I love the 4th, fireworks can already be heard through out the neighborhood. We have our community event "4th at the Fort", parades, rides, games, music and food. I will share pictures on Saturday. What fun do you have planned for Friday?
I had an opportunity to replenish so more ribbons at Honey Bend Vintage. I was only able to add pink. On Sunday I will be adding ivory, gold/red and blue~
I am obsessed with vintage horse shoe ribbons~ I love them as decorating pieces and for altering. I have started offering them at Honey Bend Vintage. We will be adding more on Thursday be sure to check them out~
We returned from Lakeside, Ohio yesterday. What a wonderful relaxing week we had. It was a week of just pure summer fun. Nothing much on the agenda but swimming, relaxing, bikeriding, and playground fun. The best part is admiring all the cottages, such beauties to look at. Here are some pics from our week.

I am super excited on the spur of the moment we rented a cottage in Lakeside Ohio. My husband grew up there and we rarely find time to get back up there, being there are no more family ties. Lakeside is such a unique place. It is a fenced in community right on Lake Erie with gates at every entrance. The kids can roam freely and have a ball. Most of the cottages are still original and so wonderful to look at. We were lucky to find one still available by the Lake and it sleeps 10. Enough room for friends and family to stop in. I am so excited for my 4 year old Griffin, it is his first time to Lakeside. He and his Dad have a strong bond, it will be nice for my husband to share this with him. Well off to get ready for some Lake fun~
I updated my shop Honey Bend Vintage today, still have a bunch to add. Today I added some millinery supplies and a vintage apron. I also finished creating my lovely dress form. I have looked and looked for a dress form and have been unsuccessful in finding what I want. I came across Heather Bullard's post on her antiquing of a new form. I had so much fun creating her. My husband thinks I'm crazy but I love her~
I love front porches. They are a perfect place to sit and watch the comings and goings on Grant St. I always try to have mine ready and set by April. I am still putting the finishing touches on it but I am loving how it has turned out. I painted the wicker chairs with an oil base paint this year and it worked out so well.
